WBC World flyweight champion Simona Galassi gave an impressive performance by winning almost every round against respected American Eileen Olszewski, last Friday night in Civitanova Marche (Central Italy). Promoted by Salvatore and Christian Cherchi's OPI 2000, in the main square of the city, the fight attracted 6,000 people who were entertained by Galassi's hit and run style.

The greatest female amateur ever - with three world championships (in 2001-2002 and 2004) and a record of 86-1 in her resume - Galassi proved that she can dominate the professional ranks as well. Olszewski had won the WIBA fllyweight belt last February and was supposed to be a tough opponent, but she never found a way to defend from Galassi's combinations. "Tha Hawaiian Mongoose" never tried to stop Galassi by holding or getting dirty, she fought fair and accepted the loss. Now, Galassi's record is made of 8 wins (3 KOs), 1 draw and 1 no-contest. Olszewski falls to 5 wins, 1 draw and 2 losses.

Former IBF world welterweight champion Michele Piccirillo (50-4-1 and 1 no-contest) outpointed Hungarian journeyman Janos Petrovic on the six rounds distance. Piccirillo's next step will be the European light middleweight title. His record moves to 50 wins (30 KOs), 4 losses and 1 no-contest, while Petrovic falls to 11-18.

Lightweight rising star Carel Sandon defeated on points Hungarian professional loser Bela Sandor, after six round of action. Trained by his uncle Sumbu Kalambay, Sandon moves to 6-0 with 2 KOs. Sandor's record is 9-55-3.

Welterweight Ottavio Di Leo KOed in the fourth round Hungarian travelhorse Attila Molnar. The Italian moves to 4-0-1 with 2 wins within the distance. Molnar falls to 9-11-6.

Super lightweight Michele Focosi debuted with a third round KO of Slovakian Ambrosz Horvath.

The show was broadcast by national tv network Italia 1.
