UPDATE: Chris Arreloa’s promoter Dan Goossen has rejected any possibility of Arreola stepping in for injured David Haye. “Chris isn’t in the type of shape you need to be for fighting for the heavyweight championship of the world,” he told the LA Times. “One thing you don’t do with elite athletes is give them a short window to prepare.”

While various heavyweight contenders hope to step in to replace Davis Haye, Wlad has already made it clear that he wants Chris Arreola. “If the fight against David Haye doesn’t take place, I’ll fight against Chris Arreola,” Wlad said on the Alexey Potapov Boxing Diary published on the Russian site Sports.ru.
