Ruiz-Asiku for IBO belt

Former world title challenger Heriberto Ruiz (42-8-2, 24 KOs) of Los Mochis, Sinaloa, Mexico, will clash with Jackson Asiku (25-3, 13 KOs) at the Parramatta Leagues Club in Sydney, NSW, Australia on Friday with IBO featherweight title up for grabs. Ruiz lost a split decision in an IBF 122 pound title bout against Steve Molitor in 2009. He defeated highly regarded Rey Bautista in 2008 and also holds a win over current IBF featherweight champion Cristobel Cruz. Ugandan born Asiku has been based in Australia for several years and had the best win of his career in 2009 when he became the first man to stop former IBF 130 pound champion Gairy St Clair by scoring a TKO win in nine rounds. The promotion will be televised nationally on Fox cable television. Promoter Angelo Hyder.
