‘Assault In The Ring’ Wins Emmy

The critically acclaimed HBO Sports documentary ‘Assault In The Ring’ from Live Star Entertainment, which revisits the infamous 1983 Billy Collins Jr.-Luis Resto boxing scandal, won the Sports Emmy for Outstanding Sports Documentary at the 31st Annual Sports Emmy Awards this past Monday. The film, which was written, directed and produced by Live Star’s Eric Drath, premiered on HBO in August 2009. FightNews feature writer David Hudson said, “‘Assault in the Ring’ is powerful, provocative and penetrating! You don’t have to be an aficionado of pugilism to appreciate the compelling human drama of this story!” A 2-disc special edition DVD of “Assault In The Ring” is available at www.AssaultInTheRing.com.

    Help Support Fightnews.com®

For 18 years, Fightnews.com® has delivered daily boxing news to fight fans around the globe. From the beginning, we have always kept Fightnews free to our readers and relied on advertiser support. Anyway, the Miami Herald, The Guardian, and Wikipedia among others have been using the “crowdfunding” revenue model, so we thought we’d test it too.

Please consider helping out. You’re not obligated to, but even a $1 pledge would really help. And if we reach our goal, we plan to upgrade our server and maybe even nuke the ads altogether. Wouldn’t that be nice?
