For the first time before their WBC cruiserweight championship clash on Saturday, WBC #1 and mandatory contender Francisco “The Wizard” Palacios (20-0, 13 KOs) had a chance to stand face to face with world champion Krzysztof “Diablo” Włodarczyk (44-2, 32 KOs), who will defend his title.
“I will try to put the spell on him,” joked Palacios during the 12 Round KnockOut Promotions press conference at the Warsaw Hilton Hotel. “And of course I will put him to sleep, but it’s time to stop talking.”
Włodarczyk, with his marquee smile, was asked what his response was to the “Wizard’s” sleep prediction. He answered like seasoned politician: “I heard that Florida is a beautiful place right now,” making a remark to Palacios training and current home site.
