WBC#16 superfly Petchbanborn Kokietgym (16-5-1,6 KOs) easily retained his WBC Asian Continental 115lb title when he destroyed Alwi Alhabsyi (reportedly 13-19-3) on Tuesday at Bangla Stadium in Phuket, Thailand. The Thai fighter began hunting his foe as the bell rang, rapidly dropping the Indonesian with his vicious right hook. The one-side show finally ended when the champion floored his challenger twice more, forcing the referee to stop the bout at 2:14 of the opening round. Petchbanborn who captured this WBC regional belt by defeating two-time WBC champion Wandee Singwancha, kept his title for the second time.

In other action, WBA#2/IBF#7 and ABCO 105lb title holder Pigmy Kokietgym (48-6-2,21 KOs) mostly controlled the show before he scored a unanimous decision over an Indonesian whose name reported as Kid Susi. WBC#28 lightfly Saenmuangloei Kokietgym (13-3-3,3 KOs) dropped Yuli Yulianto with a tough bodyshot, then he impressively destroyed the Indonesian with a right hook in round two. Former OPBF female title holder Amara Kokietgym (8-3-1,3 KOs) won a unanimous decision over Laotian Lamnammoon Kwanjaisrikort. Also, female Namtan Kokietgym outpointed Lookkaew Tungphogym in a six round non-title bout.

This event was promoted by Kokiet Panichyarom of Kokiet Group Promotion.

For 18 years, Fightnews.com® has delivered daily boxing news to fight fans around the globe. From the beginning, we have always kept Fightnews free to our readers and relied on advertiser support. Anyway, the Miami Herald, The Guardian, and Wikipedia among others have been using the “crowdfunding” revenue model, so we thought we’d test it too.

Please consider helping out. You’re not obligated to, but even a $1 pledge would really help. And if we reach our goal, we plan to upgrade our server and maybe even nuke the ads altogether. Wouldn’t that be nice?
