WBO jr middleweight champion Zaur Baysangurov (28-1, 20 KOs) is training at high altitude in Big Bear, California, for his July 6 defense against Demetrius “Bobo” Andrade (19-0, 13 KOs) at the Sport Palace in Kiev, Ukraine.
Trainer Abel Sanchez: The Summit and Big Bear Lake is breathtaking this time of the year, warm and pleasant. Zaur is working very hard, he is extremely motivated and looking forward to showing it in the fight. Nothing special, just improving with each fight to make his team, family and especially his country and its people proud of his efforts and results.
Zaur’s brother Salambek Baysangurov: “Zaur works hard since his first day in Big Bear Lake gym. You know, we’ve never been so determined before! Zaur has already started the third week of sparring sessions with decent boxers, who have very good skills and records. Among them are Christopher Pearson, David Izoineri and Gilberto Ramirez. My brother is in almost his best shape ever, but we trying to go down with hard trainings now, so he could be ready for 200% at the day of fight. Being the trainer’s assistant I’m very satisfied with Zaur’s work. Considering Andrade’s manner we have changed a lot in tactics and now just “polish” the skills.
