Abner Cotto in the spotlight

The latest member of the Cotto family to make his mark on the world boxing map is unbeaten junior lightweight Abner Cotto (14-0, 6 KOs), who will be looking for his 15th professional win without a loss on Saturday, November 17 when he meets up with Mexico’s Alejandro “Soma” Rodriguez (15-7, 8 KOs) in the main event of TeleFutura’s “Sólo Boxeo Tecate” from the Coliseo Roger Mendoza in Caguas, Puerto Rico. The six round co-main event will feature a meeting of two of the top junior lightweight prospects from the island, as Cataño’s Edgardo “Sasso” Lopez (5-0, 3 KOs) faces Bayamon’s Orlando Vazquez (5-1, 1 KO). In non-televised action, unbeaten Puerto Rican junior lightweight prospect Carlos Ivan Velasquez (13-0, 11 KOs) returns to the ring for the first time in over two years.

Cotto vs. Rodriguez is promoted by Golden Boy Promotions, Miguel Cotto Promotions and H2 Entertainment and sponsored by Cerveza Tecate. On fight night, doors open at 6:00 p.m., the first bell rings at 7:00 p.m. and the TeleFutura broadcast begins at 11:00 p.m. ET/PT.
