On tonight’s episode of Ringside on Sky Sports, Adam Booth, the former trainer of unbeaten super-middleweight George Groves, confirmed that the rumours saying he and Groves have split are indeed true. Groves, heading into the biggest fight of his career – against the formidable Carl Froch, for the IBF and WBA 168-pound titles on November 23rd – is now seen as having a major disadvantage. Still, despite Booth stating on camera how he has split up with Groves, adding how he has “no further comment” on the matter, fans and experts continue to speculate that the rumor is that and nothing more, intended to throw off Froch.
If – and it doesn’t really seem to be a big if – Groves is in need of a new trainer, just who might it be, and how will Groves’ preparations for the Froch fight be without mastermind of strategy Booth?
