Tomasz Adamek (41-1, 27 KO) arrived directly from his training camp at the first official press conference before his August 21 IBF International and NABO title fight against Michael Grant (46-3, 34 KOs), and just after press conference ended, he was back at the gym. Michael Grant, training in Las Vegas, decided not to waste couple of days of his preparations to travel to North Bergen’s “Global Boxing Gym.” Fine with Adamek, who is only interested what will happen at the Prudential Center.

In attendance was a “who’s who” of Polish boxing on the East Coast. Tomek got support from light middleweight Pawel Wolak (27-1, 17 KO), heavyweight Adam Kownacki (4-0, 4 KO) and even Bobby Gunn, who lost to Adamek last year, was there to support “Goral.”

Nick Garone, Michael Grant’s promoter was sure his fighter will be ready. “Michael is working hard,” he said. “He’ll be in top form on August 21. We all sure about this. And we will have the same outcome against Tomasz Adamek like the last time Michael fought a Polish fighter, Andrew Golota – a win for Michael Grant.”

Adamek, as always, did not even try to respond or start a war of words. He was in the good mood, receiving a painting from the Polish depicting his strong jab, and had this to say: “Eight weeks in training camp, four weeks of sparring – I’m almost ready. I will be more elusive than ever, and will add a couple of new tricks to my arsenal. I’m not worried about any Michael Grant or his team predictions. What happens and is said during press conferences have nothing to do with what will happen in the ring. Otherwise, we’ll just start screaming at each other and whoever would scream louder will be the winner andthere will be no fight on August 21. I don’t scream or argue. I hit hard.”
