Adamek to face Walker next

By Przemek Garczarczyk

“It’s official – on September 8 I will fight Travis Walker in the always friendly to Prudential Center in Newark,” heavyweight contender Tomasz Adamek (46-2, 28 KOs) told Adamek has never lost in the arena just a five minutes drive from his home. “We were ready to fight Alexander Ustinov in an IBF eliminator but his visa problems prohibited him to arrive in US. Travis Walker (39-7, 31 KOs) proved his worth knocking out Kali Meehan in his last fight. He’s ranked #12 by IBF and has full eight weeks to get into best possible shape before facing me on September 8. I hope he will be 100 percent ready,” said “Góral.” The fight at the Prudential Center will be an afternoon affair because Adamek-Walker will be broadcast live on PPV in Poland.

    Help Support®

For 18 years,® has delivered daily boxing news to fight fans around the globe. From the beginning, we have always kept Fightnews free to our readers and relied on advertiser support. Anyway, the Miami Herald, The Guardian, and Wikipedia among others have been using the “crowdfunding” revenue model, so we thought we’d test it too.

Please consider helping out. You’re not obligated to, but even a $1 pledge would really help. And if we reach our goal, we plan to upgrade our server and maybe even nuke the ads altogether. Wouldn’t that be nice?
