Adonis Stevenson: Knockouts sell, so I want to win by knockout

An Adonis Stevenson-Tavoris Cloud media conference call was scheduled for Thursday to promote their September 28th light heavyweight title fight airing live on HBO from Bell Centre in Montreal. Cloud, however, was a no-show so WBC world champion Adonis Stevenson had the media all to himself.

“He’s gonna make a mistake, I’m going to catch him,” said Stevenson. “Knockouts sell, so I want to win by knockout and in boxing people want to see the knockout. Everybody wants to see a knockout and all my fights I want to win by knockout.”

As for Cloud blowing off the conference call? “I don’t care what he thinks or what his team thinks. I have a job to do on September 28 so I’m going to do my job and knock him out. He’s not on the conference call, but next week he’s coming to Montreal so I’m gonna see him anyways.”

    Help Support®

For 18 years,® has delivered daily boxing news to fight fans around the globe. From the beginning, we have always kept Fightnews free to our readers and relied on advertiser support. Anyway, the Miami Herald, The Guardian, and Wikipedia among others have been using the “crowdfunding” revenue model, so we thought we’d test it too.

Please consider helping out. You’re not obligated to, but even a $1 pledge would really help. And if we reach our goal, we plan to upgrade our server and maybe even nuke the ads altogether. Wouldn’t that be nice?
