Report and photos by Pepe Rodriguez

Just a few hours before he has to risk his crown for the second time, the WBC flyweight world champion, Adrian El “Confesor” Hernandez (22-1-1, 14 KOs), is quiet and motivated to meet his Thai rival Kompayak Porpramook (43-3-0. 29 KOs) in a bout that is scheduled at 4 pm (Bangkok time) on Friday 23 in the 11th Infantry Regiment of Bangkok.

Adrian who is ready to fight for the first time in that distant country, but not in Asia where he already fought in Japan in 2007 earning two victories, one by knockout and one by decision said:

“I am calm and waiting for the day of the battle, I came down here (Thailand) to expose my championship, and I will take it back to Mexico, because I’m sure I will win. I know, I will face a very experienced opponent, who also is at his hometown with the support of his people, but in the ring we will be along, and there you will see who is the best.”

For 18 years,® has delivered daily boxing news to fight fans around the globe. From the beginning, we have always kept Fightnews free to our readers and relied on advertiser support. Anyway, the Miami Herald, The Guardian, and Wikipedia among others have been using the “crowdfunding” revenue model, so we thought we’d test it too.

Please consider helping out. You’re not obligated to, but even a $1 pledge would really help. And if we reach our goal, we plan to upgrade our server and maybe even nuke the ads altogether. Wouldn’t that be nice?
