A small but vocal contingent of British fans invaded Friday’s official weigh-in at Circus Maximus at Caesars Atlantic City in for the culmination of the Super Six World Boxing Classic, breaking into chants and song in support of the man they travelled over two thousand miles for, Carl Froch. The WBC champ, who weighed in at 167.5 pounds, will square off with WBA champ Andre Ward, 168 pounds, in the Tournament Final, live on SHOWTIME tonight at 9 p.m. ET/PT (delayed on the West Coast) from the historic Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, N.J.

At stake tonight: both belts, the vacant The Ring magazine championship, the inaugural Super Six World Boxing Classic Cup and, most importantly, super middleweight supremacy. After a grueling journey for both men, one of the most significant fights in the history of the super middleweight division will crown an undisputed champion in one of boxing’s deepest divisions.

    Help Support®

For 18 years,® has delivered daily boxing news to fight fans around the globe. From the beginning, we have always kept Fightnews free to our readers and relied on advertiser support. Anyway, the Miami Herald, The Guardian, and Wikipedia among others have been using the “crowdfunding” revenue model, so we thought we’d test it too.

Please consider helping out. You’re not obligated to, but even a $1 pledge would really help. And if we reach our goal, we plan to upgrade our server and maybe even nuke the ads altogether. Wouldn’t that be nice?
