Cruiserweight contender Alexander Alekseev is flanked by WIBF/WBC featherweight champion Ina Menzer and former champion Esther Schouten at Monday’s press conference in Düsseldorf. The WBO #2 rated Alekseev (16-0, 15 KOs) will face #9 rated Victor Emilio Ramirez (13-1, 11 KOs) for the WBO interim cruiserweight title on Saturday at the Burg-Wächter Castello. Ramirez is still en route to Germany from Argentina and was not in attendance. The undefeated Menzer (22-0, 9 KOs) will be making her twelfth world title defense against Schouten (22-4-1, 11 KOs), who has returned to the ring after an inspirational recovery from cancer. Schouten held the super bantamweight title from 2003 to 2006. (More to come)
