Alfonso Blanco debuts Sept. 18

2008 Venezuelan Olympian and highly talented junior middleweight Alfonso Blanco, trained by former junior lightweight champion Robert Garcia at the Robert Garcia Boxing Academy in Oxnard, CA, is expected to make his professional boxing debut on the Shane Mosley vs. Sergio Mora undercard on Saturday, September 18 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, CA against an opponent yet to be determined.

“I’m very happy and excited about being given the opportunity to be fighting on such a great card,” said Blanco. “I’m training very hard and I just can’t wait to get in the ring for the first time as a professional,” continued Blanco, who was a silver medalist in the 2007 Amateur World Championships.
