Former WBO interim junior middleweight world champion Alfredo “El Perro” Angulo held an international media conference call on Wednesday to discuss his upcoming PPV clash against Canelo Alvarez taking place on March 8 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
Alfredo Angulo: I sincerely don’t know if the fight will go the distance or end with a KO. My objective is to win…Fans know that when two Mexicans get in the ring it’s always a show and we will prove that on March 8…I’ve been an underdog most of my career. I just do my job and work hard. I don’t think about it…I really can’t say if Lara can beat Mayweather. I can say that it would be a boring fight for sure.”
Trainer Virgil Hunter: I don’t teach the style that Angulo was taught. I work on defense a lot. It’s been a pleasure to work with him.
Promoter Richard Schaefer: Alfredo has earned this opportunity. Sometimes an exciting loss is more valuable these days than a boring win.
