Alvarez headed to Panama to accept WBA belt

By Gabriel F. Cordero

Saul “Canelo” Alvarez’ manager Eddy Reynoso has informed Mexican media that Alvarez will continue with the WBC and WBA titles and doesn’t plan to give up either of them. A source close to Alvarez has told Fightnews.com that Canelo could be traveling to the WBA offices in Panama City on Tuesday with Reynoso to get the belt that accredits him as WBA super welterweight world champion from WBA VP Gilberto Mendoza Jr. Alvarez won the title last month with a win over Austin Trout in the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas. Canelo, according to the source is very happy, thankful and proud of his WBA crown.
