Andy Lee headlines Aug 21

WBA #14 middleweight contender Andy Lee (18-1, 13 KOs) will face Anthony Schuler (21-6) in a ten rounder on August 21 at “The Venue” at the Horseshoe Casino in Hammond, Indiana (20 minutes from downtown Chicago). An opponent for Hernandez will be named. Also seeing action will be light heavyweight Nick Cook (15-1, 9 KOs) and his brother Jason Cook (3-0, 2 KOs) in separate bouts. Tickets are priced at $30, $40 and $90. Call 800-745-3000. Doors open at 6:30pm and the first bell rings at 7:30pm. Must be 21 or older to attend. The event will be promoted by Bobby Hitz (Hitz Entertainment Inc.) along with Wild Bill’s Boxing.

    Help Support®

For 18 years,® has delivered daily boxing news to fight fans around the globe. From the beginning, we have always kept Fightnews free to our readers and relied on advertiser support. Anyway, the Miami Herald, The Guardian, and Wikipedia among others have been using the “crowdfunding” revenue model, so we thought we’d test it too.

Please consider helping out. You’re not obligated to, but even a $1 pledge would really help. And if we reach our goal, we plan to upgrade our server and maybe even nuke the ads altogether. Wouldn’t that be nice?
