Anselmo Moreno Update

By Gabriel F. Cordero

WBA bantamweight world champion Anselmo “Chemito” Moreno is putting the final touches on his preparations for Friday’s showdown with challenger Frederic Patrac (26-7-1, 13 KOs) in Agde, Hérault, France. Moreno feels very optimistic with regard to his physical condition as his weight is currently 119.5 pounds and he expressed confidence that he’ll take care of Patrac. The WBA has established that Moreno’s his next defense will be against WBA interim world champion Nehomar Cermeño and Moreno predicts Cermeño’s luck will run the same as all his other challengers. Moreno will be making the fifth defense of his WBA belt against Patrac.

For 18 years,® has delivered daily boxing news to fight fans around the globe. From the beginning, we have always kept Fightnews free to our readers and relied on advertiser support. Anyway, the Miami Herald, The Guardian, and Wikipedia among others have been using the “crowdfunding” revenue model, so we thought we’d test it too.

Please consider helping out. You’re not obligated to, but even a $1 pledge would really help. And if we reach our goal, we plan to upgrade our server and maybe even nuke the ads altogether. Wouldn’t that be nice?
