Four-time world champion Jorge “Travieso” Arce (60-6-2, 46 KOs) will face former WBO world champion Mauricio “Naara” Martinez (36-12-1, 26 KOs) in scheduled featherweight ten rounder on Saturday at the Gimnasio Polifuncional in Los Mochis, Sinaloa, Mexico. “I thank Zanfer the opportunity to fight at home,” said Arce. “I really wanted to fight in Los Mochis and that desire is here, now I want to have a great fight…I tell people to join me this Saturday to give the cry of Viva Mochis.”
Martinez stated, “Much respect to what he has accomplished throughout his career, but I think it has gone as far as it will go. He’s going to fight at home and this is where he could retire after I will win. I want to be champion again and for that I have to beat him.”
The same night Juan Carlos “Zurdito” Sanchez (14-1-1, 7 KOs) will defend his IBF super flyweight world championship against the experienced former world champion Rodel Mayol (31-5-2, 22 KOs) in a high risk battle for the young world champion.
