This Saturday, three-time world champions, Jorge “Travieso” Arce, Humberto “Zorrita” Soto and undefeated prospect Omar “Businessman” Chavez will be action in a big triple header card in Culiacan, Sinoloa, Mexico at the Bicentennial Celebration of Mexican Independence Day. The big show will be held at the Dorado Soccer Stadium and will be televised by Fox Sport Espanol in “Top Rank Live”
Arce (55-6-1, 42 KOs) of Los Mochis, Sinaloa, will take on former world champion Lorenzo “Lencho” Parra (31-2, 18 KOs) of Venezuela in a 12 round WBO junior featherweight elimination bout with the winner becoming the mandatory challenger to young Puerto Rican champion, Wilfredo Vázquez Jr.
“I know how good Parra is and I will have to be at my best to beat him. As always I will give the fans as good a fight as I can,” said Arce.
Soto (52-7-2, 32 KOs) of Los Mochis Sinola, will defended his WBC lightweight title against Fidel Monterrosa (23-1, 18 KOs) of Colombia in a 12 round championship fight.
“I look forward to fighting in Culiacan and will give them the best fight possible,” said Soto.
Chávez Carrasco (23-0-1, 16 KOs) of Culiacan, Sinaloa will have a rematch with Rodrigo Juarez (15-11-1, 11 KOs) of Tijuana. They met a couple of months back with Chavez getting the nod on a very close fight.
“I know the first fight was a war and it was close, but this time there will be no doubt about the winner,” said Chavez, who training in the Mountains of Mexico for this eight round clash.
