Arce vs. Andrade?
By Gabriel F. Cordero
WBO bantamweight world champion Jorge “Travieso” Arce could defend his crown against Brazilian veteran Giovanni Andrade (62-13, 50 KOs) on February 18 at the Palenque de la Feria in Durango, Mexico. Andrade would replace Arce’s originally planned foe, former world champion Lorenzo Parra, after Parra was rejected by the WBO.
Arce is training in his hometown of Los Mochis, Sinaloa at the Montiel Gym of his trainer Manuel Montiel and is sparring with Luis and Adan Lugo and Josesito Montiel. “I’m training hard and I will do well in this fight,” said Arce. “My goal is to face Donaire and we are awaiting the outcome of the Donaire-Vasquez fight next February 4.”
