On Monday, Hall of Fame promoter Bob Arum called a possible fifth fight between Juan Manuel Marquez and Manny Pacquiao “the biggest fight in boxing, bigger than Pacquiao-Mayweather.” Speaking to the LA Times, Arum stated that he won’t discuss future plans with the fighters until next year and dismissed the possibility of Marquez-Pacquiao 5 taking place as soon as April 20.
Marquez arrived back in Mexico City at 1:30AM Tuesday, telling reporters that his KO win Saturday ended an eight year quest for an official victory over Pacquiao. Regarding a fifth fight, he stated “We’ll see.”
Pacquiao stated after the fight that he intends to fight again. His wife and mother, however, are both on the record with GMA imploring Pacman to retire. He is en route back to the Philippines where he will celebrate his 34th birthday on Monday.
