Reliable sources have informed Fightnews.com that El Paso police didn’t file charges against current WBA super welterweight champion Austin Trout. It was initially reported by local press that Trout was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication and Trout was detained for several hours. Trout said the incident was all a misunderstanding, telling the El Paso Times “I don’t fight for free.” He also told the paper that a May 4 unification bout with WBC champ Canelo Alvarez is “close.”
