Australian Boxing Update

Unbeaten super middleweight Dennis “Hurricane” Hogan ( 13-0-1, 6 KO’s) scored a first round knockout over Petchsuriya Looksakkongdin (5-9, 2 KO’s) in the scheduled eight round main event at Fortitude Stadium, Fortitude Valley, Queensland, Australia on Saturday. Irish born Hogan outclassed the Thai import.

In a supporting bout, welterweight Todd Kidd (9-2-1, 5 KO’s) stopped Dennapa Bigshotcamp (12-27, 4 KO’s) in round three of a scheduled six. Kidd dropped his opponent in round two and three. Kidd returning to the winning list after suffering a loss in Australian 140 pound challenge in 2012.

Super middleweight Faris Chevalier (2-1, 2 KO’s) stopped Kerwin Buckley (0-1) in round three of scheduled four.


Former world rated light heavyweight Mark ” Bam Bam” Flanagan (13-4, 8 KO’s) scored a second round knockout over Ofisa Vili (6-3) in the main event eight round contest at the Boxing and Sporting Club, Morandah, Queensland, Australia on Saturday. Referee Steve Marshall crowned Flanagan at 2.25 of the round. Flanagan was rated by the WBO in 2012 after stopping Kariz Kariuki but lost to Daniel McKinnon in 2013.

Welterweight Cain Oldfield (3-0, 3 KO’s) stopped Jason Mac Gura (1-16-3, 1 KO) at 2.31 of round one.
