Paulie Ayala Productions, led by former world champion and Fort Worth boxing legend Paulie Ayala, has signed Dallas lightweight amateur sensation Manuel Rey Rojas to his first pro contract and just in time for Ayala’s upcoming show, Battle of DFW, Saturday, April 30th at the Fort Worth Convention Center. Rojas compiled an exceptional amateur record of 86-17 that included the 2006 National Silver Gloves Championship, 2008 Junior Olympic State Championship, 2008 National Junior Olympic Finals, 2008 World Ringside Finals and 2009 National Silver Gloves Championship. Ayala is focused on developing talent and believes Rojas has a chance to be special. “I believe Manuel is young, talented and has a lot of potential. I want to help Manuel by developing him one fight at a time and keep him busy,” stated Ayala. Battle of DFW is headlined by another former Dallas amateur standout and 2008 U.S. Olympian Luis Yanez.

    Help Support®

For 18 years,® has delivered daily boxing news to fight fans around the globe. From the beginning, we have always kept Fightnews free to our readers and relied on advertiser support. Anyway, the Miami Herald, The Guardian, and Wikipedia among others have been using the “crowdfunding” revenue model, so we thought we’d test it too.

Please consider helping out. You’re not obligated to, but even a $1 pledge would really help. And if we reach our goal, we plan to upgrade our server and maybe even nuke the ads altogether. Wouldn’t that be nice?
