Preston Lamb and his recently christened Prime Time Sports Bar were hosts to a press conference Thursday for the “I AM A MAN!” ESPN2 FNF televised event that will take place on Beale Street in downtown Memphis, Friday April 3, at the open air Pepsi Pavilion in Handy Park. This boxing event, complete with free admission, is promoted by Prize Fight Boxing in association with DiBella Entertainment and Square Ring Promotions. Originally scheduled for Wednesday, April 1, the press conference was moved to Thursday April 2, due to local media frenzy created by former University of Memphis basketball coach John Callipari’s announcement that he would leave Memphis to be the new coach at Kentucky. This press conference served as a weigh-in as well. In a crucial twelve round main event, KO artist Randall Bailey (38-6, 34 KOs) will toe the line in an IBF junior welterweight eliminator with Frankie Figueroa (20-2, 13 KOs). The winner would face Juan Urango in later summer or early fall. “This ESPN card – the main event – with Frankie Figueroa and Randell Bailey, I think is by far the best ESPN main event in years,” said promoter Brian Young.
