Baja boxers visit sick kids

The featured fighters of the “KO Against Child Cancer” fight card this Saturday, August 28th, at the Tijuana Municipal Auditorium presented by Baja Boxing, toured the pediatric ward of the Castro Limon Foundation and distributed toys and cheers to all the interned boys and girls.

Light welterweight Juan Pablo “CheChe” Lopez (17-0, 16KOs), super flyweight Arturo “Fuerte” Badillo (17-1, 15KOs) and bantamweight Jorge “Tremendo” De Alba (4-0, 4KOs) were the boxers at hand who were met by the specialized staff and the children who were there receiving treatment.

Lopez will be facing Luis Rey Campoa (8-5-1, 5KOs) of San Luis Rio Colorado, MX, in the ten round main event while Badillo will face Agua Prieta, MX’s Arcadio Salazar (6-4-2) in an eight round bantamweight bout and De Alba tries to keep his perfect record intact against Luis Babuca (1-3-2) of Nacozari, MX.

Seven more bouts flesh out the card.

Tickets are available for 500 pesos ($40.00U.S.) and 100 pesos ($8.15U.S.) at the Tijuana’s Municipal Auditorium box office. Part of the proceeds go towards the Castro Limon Foundation which helps Tijuana children stricken by cancer.
