Former world title challenger Marco Antonio “Veneno” Rubio and former world champion Carlos Baldomir conducted a public workout for the media and fans Wednesday in advance of Saturday’s WBF super middleweight title fight at the Estadio Miguel Aleman in Celaya, Guanajuato, Mexico. The event is billed as “Viva Celaya Champions” and promoted by Promociones del Pueblo.
“I have no fear of facing him at this weight in Mexico,” said Baldomir. I’m sure that despite my 41 years and with the little time that I have left in boxing, I’ll have ample opportunities to beat him. Rubio says he’ll knock me out before the eighth round, but I won’t let him beat me. I’m a better fighter and I’m going to take the world title for Argentina.”
