Promoter Branco Milenkovic of Branco Sports Productions has announced the eagerly awaited clash between Malcolm Klassen and Cassius Baloyi for the IBF junior lightweight belt will take place at the North -West University Complex in Mafikeng, South Africa on Saturday April 18. The 34-year-old Baloyi 36-3-1; 19 who has held six world organisation belts will be making the second defence of his IBF junior lightweight belt that he won in Mafikeng on April 12, 2008 when he outpointed Mzonke Fana. In September of the same year he stopped Javier Osvaldo Alverez from Argentina in his first defence. Klassen 23-4-2; 13 won the IBF junior lightweight belt in what was considered a big upset on November 3, 2006 when he outpointed Gairy St Clair from Guyana. However, less than five months later he lost the belt to Mzonke Fana who in turn lost it Baloyi. Klassen, 28, became the mandatory challenger in August last year when he stopped former five time world champion Manuel Medina of Mexico in two rounds. Baloyi and Klassen are both managed and trained by Nick Durandt, but the boxers have agreed that Gert Strydom will train Klassen for this fight.
