Former multiple world champion Cassius Baloyi fighting at lightweight was beaten on a ten round split decision by former WBA lightweight champion Namibian Paulus Moses at the Ramatex Factory west of Khomasdal, Namibia on Saturday night. In a closely fought contest one judge scored it 96-94 for Baloyi and the other two judges had it 97-93 and 96-94 for Moses. Moses improved his record to 29-2, 19 KOs and the 37-year-old Baloyi saw his record drop to 37-7-1, 19 KOs.
Former three-time world champion Isaac Hlatshawayo (30-5-1, 10 KOs) fighting at welterweight was well beaten by Namibia’s Bethuel Tyson Uushona in a 12 round contest for the vacant WBO All Africa title. The scores were 119-109 twice and 120-108. Uushona improved his record to 26-1-2.
On the same card Paulus Ambunda of Namibia outpointed William Prado of Brazil over 12 rounds. The scores were 119-109 twice and 120-108.
Abmerk Shidjuu won the WBO Africa flyweight title, when he outpointed South Africa’s Khanyekude Mukhansi over 12 rounds. The scores were 117-110, 116-112 and 115-113.
