Barney Harrell R.I.P.

Barney Harrell from Chicago’s Southside, a longtime amateur and professional timekeeper for the State of Illinois, passed away this past Monday May 26th. As an amateur boxer, Harrell was a Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) Champion in 1954 at Middleweight (160 lbs.) and while in the military, Harrell was a 165 lb. champion in 1961. Barney also officiated amateur boxing as a judge and referee for several years, and from 1999 – 2003 saw some action as a judge and referee in the professional ranks. Arrangements TBA R.I.P.
