Baue defeats Cannon

Brandon Baue won an eight round unanimous decision over Robbie Cannon to retain his WBF welterweight title on Friday night at the Lumiere Casino in St Louis, MO. Cannon was almost out on his feet in round three, but gamely battled the distance.
Lots of knockouts on the undercard. Welterweight Achour Esho remained undefeated in his young career and moved to 5-0 with a first round KO. Former UFC middleweight now cruiserweight boxer Terry Martin also moved his record up to 3-0 with a third round TKO. In a light heavyweight match, David Thomas scored a vicious 1st round KO over Nigerian Dennis Ogboo.
Heavyweight contender Fres Oquendo worked both Martin’s and Esho’s corner in his first corner appearance. “Man it was kind of strange working a corner, I am not used to that,” said Fres. “I almost forgot it wasn’t me fighting for a minute, I got to see how the other half lives and it isn’t easy but we did real good tonight.” Bobby Hitz promoted the sold out event.
