Bennett stops Armah

Australian 140-pounder Chad “Hollywood” Bennett ( 29-4-3, 20 KOs) stopped James Armah (17-2, 7 KOs) in eight rounds at the Panthers Club, Newcastle , NSW, Australia on Friday. Bennett dropped Armah in round one but Armah rebounded to have Bennett down. twice in round three.. The 39 year old Australian recovered and at 0.50 of round eight referee Steve Hughes crowned Bennett. The 36 year old Ghana born Armah had only lost once previously by majority ten round decision to Steve Quinonez in 2009.

In supporting light welterweight bout Paul Vella (1-0, 1KO) made a successful debut by stopping Jayson MacGura (1-7-1) at 0.38 of round four. Also heavyweight Bobby Tuimauluga (2-0, 2 KOs) stopped Moses Havea (0-1) at 0.37 of round one. In other action welterweight Will Sands (2-0, 1 KO) outscored Roy Hourn (0-1) over four rounds by scores of 39-36, 38-37, 39-38. Promoter Chad Bennett.
