Berchelt stops ex-champ Cruz in five to stay unbeaten

Unbeaten WBC #15 rated super featherweight Miguel “Alacran” Berchelt (20-0, 17 KOs) scored a fifth round TKO over former world champion Cristobal “Lacandon” Cruz (40-15-3, 24 KOs) on Saturday night at the Complejo Deportivo Inalambrica, Merida, Yucatan, Mexico. Berchelt dropped Cruz with a clean left hook in round five and got the stoppage with his follow up barrage. Time was 2:10.

Super flyweight David “Tornado” Sanchez (22-2-2, 17 KOs) scored a seventh round TKO over Juan “Lokito” Kantun (21-5-3, 15 KOs) in a good action scrap. Time was 2:38.

Super flyweight Jose “Relampago” Torres (12-4, 1 KOs scored a one-sided six round unanimous decision over Ricardo “El Zorrito” Ceja (7-5-2, 4 KOs). Scores were 60-54 on all cards.
