The WBA’s “KO Drugs 22 Boxing Festival” is set for October 2 at the Roberto Durán Arena in Panama City, Panama. According to WBA Executive vice president Gilberto Jesus Mendoza, the headiner will be Panamanian Luis “El Nica” Concepcion who will defend his WBA interim flyweight world title against Thailand’s Denkaosan Kaovichit.
Also, as reported yesterday, WBA cruiserweight world champion Guillermo Jones will finally defend his title after 2+ years, facing #1 rated Valery Brudov in the co-feature.
In other action, Venezuelan Ogleidis “La Niña” Suarez and Panamanian Shantal Martínez meet for the WBA FEDEFEM belt at 122 pounds. A featherweight clash is set between Irving Berry and Feider Viloria. Former wolrd champion Koki Kameda, and local favorites Luis Pineda and Ameth Díaz are also scheduled. Venezuelans Jaider Parra and Johan Pérez could also land on the card.
“By next week we’ll have have a more complete picture of the card, because we’re still booking fights, so we should be able to confirm the inclusion of the boxers,” said Mendoza.
The special guest will be the Mexican Legend Ricardo “Finito” López.
