This Friday, March 29th, V&B Promotions, led by San Diego-based trainer Joe Vargas and once Tijuana fighter Emilio Bojorquez, returns with their second offering at the Tijuana Municipal Auditorium with a fight card of promising talent from both sides of the U.S.-Mexico border. In the main event, Bojorquez’s little brother and Vargas trained super bantamweight Christian “Huevo” Bojorquez (9-0, 2KOs) will return to his native city to take on the gritty Cesar De La Mora (3-3-1, 2KOs) in an eight rounder.
Bojorquez has not seen action since late last year when he stopped Daniel Gonzalez in the first round but he really made his name when he won a controversial split decision against Walter “School Boy” Sarnoi in a war in which both men met the canvas twice. Now he will face the tough De La Mora whose record does not serve him justice. Despite his record being .500, De La Mora is known for being a tough out for anybody.
Also featured on the card will be San Diego’s Prince “Tiger” Smalls in his pro debut, popular super welterweight Pastor Elenes (3-1, 1KO) in his first fight back since suffering his first loss and the much anticipated first time of bantamweight Jesus “Billy” Briseño. An amateur standout, Briseño gained fame in Tijuana for his aggressive boxer/puncher style in the amateurs and now is ready to make the jump to the pro ranks.
Tickets are available at the Tijuana Municipal Auditorium and range from $29-$8.50. Doors open at 7:30pm with the first punch thrown at 8:00pm.
