Ten bouts with great Puerto Rican prospects will see action this Saturday at the Angel ‘Cholo’ Espada Coliseum in Salinas. The event, organized by Promociones Miguel Cotto and H2 Entertainment, will be headlined by Wilfredo Bones, who has a perfect record of eight wins, no defeats with all eight wins by knockout. “I’m an intelligent fighter, I have a lot of strength and agility, as well as good moves,” said the 24 years old boxer, when asked about what attributes he considered would give him the victory over Francisco Rodriguez, whom he’ll face in the featherweight division.

About his opponent, Bones said he saw him fight a few months ago, and although he admits Rodriguez has good style, he has no doubts for a second that he will be victorious in this battle. “I know he covers very well and has good moves, but I am very strong, and well prepared for overcoming every movement he has,” he assured.

“This is going to be a great night for boxing in Puerto Rico, over 20 great prospects will show their skills once again. In the main event I can say that Wilfredo Bones has rocks in his hands and Francisco Rodriguez has the experience that he needs, this will be a very interesting fight,” Miguel Cotto said from his camp in Tampa FL.

Boxeo Boricua in Salinas will be at the Angel Luis “Cholo” Espada Coliseum in Salinas Puerto Rico. Tickets are available in Ticketcenter (787)792-5000, Prices $25 and $12.

From the beginning, we have always kept Fightnews free to our readers and relied on advertiser support. Anyway, the Miami Herald, The Guardian, and Wikipedia among others have been using the “crowdfunding” revenue model, so we thought we’d test it too.
