Former world title challenger Rey “Boom Boom” Bautista (26-2, 19 KOs) of the Philippines will make his 2009 debut October 16th against Rachamongkol Sor Pleonchit (8-1, 5 KOs) of Thailand. Baustista, who is extremely popular in the Philippines will be moving up from the super bantamweight division to challenge for the defending champion Pleonchit’s WBC International featherweight title. Bautista who last fought in November of 2008 has been sidelined with a wrist injury but has since had successful surgery. The well renown Ala Boxing Promotions based out of Cebu City of the Philippines will be the promoter. The venue will be the Waterfront Hotel & Casino in Cebu City.
