Booth obsessed
Jason Booth is so hell bent on shocking world super-bantamweight champion Steve Molitor that he can’t get him out of his mind. The recovering alcoholic challenges for the Canadian’s (32-1) IBF belt at Rainton Meadows Arena, Houghton-le-Spring on Saturday 11th September. Booth (35-5) admits: “Every day of training is hard and even when it is my rest day at home all I think about is Molitor and not letting my one chance slip. I am not complaining though because a few years ago when I was living a bad life it looked like my career was over.”
Booth, 32, is enjoying the fame game doing a battery of interviews after training sessions at his Nottingham gym.
He added: “The press are at my gym most days and I have done a lot of interviews, but that is what it’s all about and something I have to get used to. It is when the cameras aren’t on me that I have to worry.”
In the chief supporting bout to Molitor-Booth, Londoner Matthew Marsh (13-2) will meet undefeated Scot Kris Hughes (12-0) for the vacant Commonwealth super-bantamweight crown.
