Botha in action Friday

Former world heavyweight challenger Frans “White Buffalo” Botha (48-8-3, 29 KOs) will clash with Rugby League football star Sonny Bill Williams (5-0, 3 KOs) over twelve rounds at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre, Boondall, Queensland, Australia on Friday. The 44-year-old South African Botha is coming off losses to Francesco Pianeta, Carlos Takam and Michael Grant. He has mixed it with world champions Michael Moorer, Lennox Lewis, Mike Tyson, Evander Holyfield and Wladimir Klitschko. Australia’s Bob Mirovic lost to Botha in 2007. Williams is coming off a KO win over Clarence Tillman of the USA in 2012.

In main support WBA #7 middleweight Jarrod Fletcher (13-1, 7 KOs) will be in action against Kiatchai Singwancha (32-8, 21 KOs) over eight. Fletcher is chasing former WBA 168-pound champion Anthony Mundine but has been challenged by fellow Queenslander Omar Shaick. Also WBO #10 Alex Leapai (26-4-3, 21 KOs) will punch it out with Tennessee 6’4 heavyweight Matt Hicks (13-8, 12 KOs) over eight. Rugby League star Quade Cooper will make his debut against Billy Dunnett in a cruiserweight four rounder. Promoter Khoder Nasser Televised on Foxtel Main Event Pay-Per-View. Ticketek $50-$250.
