Bowman set for Saturday

Carney “Beeper” Bowman returns to action this Saturday night, December 18th against Jason Rorie in the main event of “Home for the Holidays” an evening of action packed professional boxing at the National Guard Armory in Hanover, Pennsylvania.

Known as the “Fighting Pride of Central Pennsylvania”, the undefeated Bowman is coming off a resounding third round stoppage of Robert Acevedo this past July 31st at the Sovereign Bank Baseball Stadium in York, Pennsylvania.

A professional for six years, having amassed a record of 15-0-0 with seven knockouts, Bowman is looking towards a big 2011 and fights against other world ranked fighters either at 126 or 130 pounds.

‘Honestly, I’m more than ready at this point. I see guys like Jason Litzau or Matt Remillard and I’m ready to test myself against them in the coming year. Nothing against Rorie this Saturday night, but I want to fight bigger names in 2011” said Bowman, who is promoted by TKO Boxing Promotions.

“I love fighting at home in the York area, but wherever I have to go for bigger fights, I’m headed there” continued Bowman, who’s last five fights have taken place in York in front of huge crowds.

The 23 year old Rorie comes into action for the scheduled six rounder with a record of 6-9-2 with three knockouts.

The Bowman/Rorie bout is presented by A & D Promotions, for advance tickets and more information please call 717-968-8000.

The National Guard Armory in Hanover is located at 51 W. Clearview Road in Hanover, Pennsylvania.

For 18 years,® has delivered daily boxing news to fight fans around the globe. From the beginning, we have always kept Fightnews free to our readers and relied on advertiser support. Anyway, the Miami Herald, The Guardian, and Wikipedia among others have been using the “crowdfunding” revenue model, so we thought we’d test it too.

Please consider helping out. You’re not obligated to, but even a $1 pledge would really help. And if we reach our goal, we plan to upgrade our server and maybe even nuke the ads altogether. Wouldn’t that be nice?
