Boxcino semifinal results: Carcamo, Petrov advance

The semifinal round of the Boxcino lightweight tournament took place Friday night at the 4 Bears Casino & Lodge in New Town, North Dakota.

In semi-final #1, Fernando Carcamo (17-5, 13 KOs) won an eight round majority decision over Miguel Gonzalez (23-4, 16 KOs). Carcamo dropped Gonzalez in round one, then gave better than he got for the rest of the fight. Scores were 76-76, 78-74, 77-75.

In semi-final #2, Petr Petrov (34-4-2, 15 KOs) scored a fourth round TKO over Chris Rudd (13-2, 8 KOs). The aggressive Petrov pressured Rudd from the opening bell. The bout was finally waved off in the fourth with Rudd taking heavy fire on the ropes. Time was :51.

Carcamo and Petrov advance to the Boxcino Finals on May 23 at the Turning Stone Resort Casino in Verona, New York.
