Boxcino Tournament Results

The quarterfinals of ESPN2’s “Boxcino 2014” lightweight tournament kicked off on Friday night at the Edgewater Casino in Laughlin, Nevada.

Fernando Carcamo (16-5, 13 KOs) scored an impressive second round TKO over previously unbeaten Samuel Neequaye (21-1, 15 KOs). Carcamo dropped Neequaye in round one and got the stoppage after staggering Neequaye with a fierce assault in round two. Time was 1:58.

Miguel Gonzalez (23-3, 16 KOs) won an unpopular six round split decision over Miguel Angel Mendoza (21-3-2, 21 KOs), Scores were 58-56, 58-56 for Gonzalez, 58-56 for Mendoza.

In an entertaining slugfest, Petr Petrov (33-4-2, 14 KOs) won a six round unanimous decision over previously unbeaten Fedor Papazov (14-1, 9 KOs). Scores were 58-56 on all cards.

In the opening bout, Chris Rudd (13-1, 8 KOs) won a seven round unanimous decision over Yakubu Amidu (19-5-2, 17 KOs). The scheduled six-rounder went to a round seven “drawbreaker round” with Rudd pulling it out. No scores announced.
