Boxing back in Denver Friday

Sting Like a Bee and Strictly Boxing Promotions present a boxing card on Friday at the EXDO Event Center located in Denver, Colorado. Major bragging rights will be on the line as heavyweights Chris “Da Future” Green (8-6-1, 6 KOs), of Denver, Colorado, will battle Joey Montoya (4-1-3, 3 KOs) of nearby Colorado Springs, Colorado, in a scheduled eight-round contest for the “Sting Like a Bee” heavyweight title.

In the co-main event, former 10x National champion Ricky Lopez (8-1, 3 KOs) of Oxnard California, will face rugged journeyman David Green (2-10-1, 1 KO), of Monroe, Louisiana, in a scheduled five round featherweight bout. Lopez, born in Colorado, is the cousin of undefeated Jr. Welterweight contender, Mike “Mile High” Alvarado and was highly touted by Oscar De La Hoya early in his career.

2011 National Champion and 7 x Armed Forces champion, John Franklin (1-0, 1 KO), of Kansas, Missouri, will appear in 4 round special attraction bout in the bantamweight division against pro debuting Johnell Lowery-Partlow, of Washington, District of Columbia. Franklin’s stellar amateur career, includes tough battles with Gary Russell Jr, Ronny Rios, and Jesse Magdaleno.
