Boxing back in Tijuana

The newly minted promotional outfit, Baja Boxing, helmed by Antonio “Cañas” Lozada, is ready to debut their first fight card on Saturday, April 10th at the Palenque of Morelos Park in the heart of Tijuana, MX. Titled “New Blood”, the multi-bout fight card will be televised nationally in Mexico by Televisa. In the main event, the undefeated Antonio “Cañitas” Lozada Jr. (21-0, 18KO) of Tijuana, MX, will face off against his toughest challenge to date against the experienced Henry “Mamba” Aurad (21-2-1, 9KO) of Colombia. The WBC’s lightweight Fecarbox title will be at play.

In a battle for the bantamweight WBC Fecarbox title, Tijuana’s David “Morita” De La Mora (18-0, 12KO) will face Jovanny “Bambino” Soto (27-10-2, 22KO) of Sinaloa. Soto has held the title he will be disputing before aswell as the Mexican national and Fedecentro bantamweight straps.

Also featured on the fight card will be another WBC Fecarbox title bout, this time for the flyweight version between Tijuana’s Arturo “Fuerte” Badillo (17-0, 15KO) and former world title challenger Ronald “Indio” Barrera (26-7-2, 16KO) of Colombia.

Tijuana up and coming prospects Juan Pablo “Cheche” Lopez (15-0, 14KO), Alejandro “Mantequitas” Rubio (9-0, 5KO) and Reyes “Cholo” Velazquez (8-0-1, 6KO) will also show their wares on the fight card.

Tickets are available the Municipal Auditorium’s box office with General Admission priced at 105 Pesos ($8.57US) and ringside at 210 Pesos ($17.14US).
