Boxing Summit Talks Continue

Luis Nuño Briones

The work to find unity and reciprocity among the boxing sanctioning organizations has moved forward in Dallas as the WBC, IBF and WBO met to continue the flow of ideas on how to make boxing better. Presidents Jose Sulaiman, Marian Muhammad and Paco Valcarcel, along with key members of their organizations including Larry Hazzard, Luis Perez, Mauricio Sulaiman, John Duggan and Robert Lenhardt met and agreed on some very interesting topics that are taking form and could be of great value for the future of boxing. WBA president Gilberto Mendoza was scheduled to be present but sent a letter explaining his absence and confirmed the WBA’s position of unity and acceptance towards the meetings and agreements.

    Help Support®

For 18 years,® has delivered daily boxing news to fight fans around the globe. From the beginning, we have always kept Fightnews free to our readers and relied on advertiser support. Anyway, the Miami Herald, The Guardian, and Wikipedia among others have been using the “crowdfunding” revenue model, so we thought we’d test it too.

Please consider helping out. You’re not obligated to, but even a $1 pledge would really help. And if we reach our goal, we plan to upgrade our server and maybe even nuke the ads altogether. Wouldn’t that be nice?
