Boxing tonight in Longmont, Colorado

Tonight Ghost Town Promotions’ Raul Utajara has a six bout card at the Longmont Athletic Club, located in Longmont, Colorado. In the main event, local fan favorite, Raul ‘El Chino’ Carrillo (12-1, 7 KOs) returns to action against tough guy Terry Buterbaugh (9-8-3, 4 KOs). They will clash over six rounds at welterweight.

In the co-main event, Carlos Raul Ibarra, 10-3-1, 5KOs, will face off against Joey Montoya, 5-2-3, in a sixer at light heavyweight. In a special attraction bout, local rising prospect Giovanni ‘The Predator’ Merceron, 3-0, 2 KOs will battle Jeremy Ramos, 4-1, 1KO over 6 rounds at jr. middleweight. In a rematch six years in the making, undefeated Maurice Louishome, 6-0, 4KOs and Victor Villareal, 10-7, 5 KOs, will finally meet again. Louishome decisioned Villareal in their ’07 bout.

Welterweight Carlos Marquez will return from a 2-year layoff. Marquez, 3-1, 1KO, will square off against Carlos Sanchez, 6-4, 2KOs. To open things up, local standout amateur, Hilario Medina will debut. His opponent will be free swinging, Ruben Santos, 0-2.

Also scheduled to be on the card was the hard hitting, John Ryan Grimaldo. Grimaldo was to fight Brad Jackson, but Jackson pulled out on Monday citing an undisclosed injury.

Doors open at 6 with the first bell at 7pm. Ringside tickets are already sold out. Reserved seating are available for $35 and general admission are $25. They can be bought at the door or by calling 720-296-6176 or 303-772-4700. The Longmont Athletic Club is located at 10 Mountain View Ave.
