Updating two neighboring Northern California cards, Mexican veteran Cosme Rivera (35-14-3, 24 KOs) will be the 10-round main event opponent for Japanese welterweight prospect Yoshihiro Kamegai (21-0, 18 KOs) when professional boxing makes a long-awaited return to Sacramento’s historic Memorial Auditorium on Oct. 6. The Fox Sports Network is telecasting.

Also, in this Saturday night’s show at the Woodland Community & Senior Center, John Alberto Molina (32-19-3, 20 KOs) of Colombia is the choice to oppose super-bantamweight Manuel Avila (9-0, 3 KOs) of nearby Fairfield in the eight-round main event, to be telecast by TeleFutura.

Don Chargin and Paco Presents are promoting both cards, along with Golden Boy Promotions for the Woodland show.

    Help Support®

For 18 years,® has delivered daily boxing news to fight fans around the globe. From the beginning, we have always kept Fightnews free to our readers and relied on advertiser support. Anyway, the Miami Herald, The Guardian, and Wikipedia among others have been using the “crowdfunding” revenue model, so we thought we’d test it too.

Please consider helping out. You’re not obligated to, but even a $1 pledge would really help. And if we reach our goal, we plan to upgrade our server and maybe even nuke the ads altogether. Wouldn’t that be nice?
